"Veni", "Vidi", "Vici" (I came, I saw, I conquered) was a phrase often attributed to Julius Caesar, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that this stunning pendant was struck in an ancient Roman mint. It was, in fact, only recently made by Ben. The sterling silver blank was hand-forged (yes, with a hammer and anvil), and Ben has individually engraved his original artwork - depicting a mounted Roman warrior. Extreme heat has softened and "aged" the imagery. We think that this unique pendant is a very special piece of wearable art.
We have made and fitted a bail and included a 50cm x 3.3mm sterling silver belcher chain.
- Metal - sterling silver (please see our notes re: metal composition below);
- Size: This is a quite large and heavy piece. Total size of the pendant (excluding bail) is app. 3.6cm x 3.4cm. It's app. 4mm thick and contains app. 39 grams of sterling silver (excluding chain).
- Colour: Silver with an aged (ie slightly darkened) finish (ie patina) - this may appear exaggerated in macro photography.

- Pictured pendant is an actual photograph of one of these pieces, made by us. We may be able to make repeats, but, as the process is very individual, repeats will be somewhat different. Please note also that the image is photographed using macro photography, and therefore magnified. Please review the physical dimensions as per the listing description.

METAL COMPOSITION/ METAL ALLERGIES
The metals used in jewellery making (including Sterling silver - which we typically use) are alloys (mixes of different metals), and the composition is variable, not always known, nor necessarily what you would assume it to be.
This is especially relevant for vintage jewellery, or jewellery made from vintage components, where the base metals may not be definitively known and the alloying metals cannot be established (any suggestion that we provide as to the metal used in a listed product comes from indicators such as hallmarks and should be treated as a "best guess" only). We source our Sterling silver for new pieces from reputable Australian refiners/ suppliers. We cannot, however, guarantee the precise composition of the alloy.
Some people suffer allergies to particular metals (nickel is one of the more common allergens, but not the only one). If you suffer metal allergies we advise that you DO NOT purchase vintage/ upcycled jewellery products and that you speak with your dermatologist/ health care professional and only purchase the products recommended by them.
